The Otago Exercise Program is an evidence-based fall prevention program developed and researched at the University of Otago in New Zeeland. The Carolina Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (CGWEP), a division of the University of North Carolina’s School of Medicine, offers a course for health and fitness professionals to learn how to administer the Otago Exercise Program to older adults titled “The Otago Exercise Program: Falls Prevention Training”.
Resources for participants as well as providers are available and include technology navigation recommendations and reimbursement and best practice implementation strategies.
